California’s two most popular rivers for rafting are the South Fork and Middle Fork of the American River. Rafting trips for all levels of experience are available from expert guide services. Trips range from 3/4-Day through 2-Day Trips and run April through October. The American River is famous for its rapids and scenery, is also famous for the discovery of gold by James Marshall at historic Sutter’s Mill. In April and May, the water is cold, with warm days, wetsuits are provided. June thru September, the water is refreshing and the air is hot.
