Universal Studios Hollywood City Walk

Posted by on July 31, 2008

City Walk is just outside the main gate to Universal Studios in Los Angeles. The main focus of the mall is entertainment and dinning. Most of the shops sell tourist related products but they are fun to browse through. If your planning a day at Universal Studios and use the general parking lot you will have to pass through City Walk in order to get to the amusement park. Of course the idea is that you spend some money on your way in or back from the studios. City Walk is a great place for lunch or dinner while you visit Universal Studios, if your looking for a place to shop you might want to look elsewhere.

Griffith Park Southern Railroad

Posted by on July 26, 2008

Open Since 1948 in Griffith Park, Los Angeles the Griffith Park Southern Railway takes rides on a one mile journey aboard a miniature train. Two different trains are at the park and can take up to seventy passengers at a time. The loop around the park takes you over a creaking fifty year old bridge and past a western town before it returns you to the Los Feliz train station.
Train rides are $2.50 per person and your trip around the park takes about 15 minutes. There is plenty of free parking and after the train trip you can walk over to the Griffith Park pony rides and let the kids enjoy a fun ride on the park ponies. Parents have as much fun as the kids watching the ponies take off around the track. The first fifty feet or so the ponies take off at a gallop and really give the children a fast little ride. The train and pony rides are located at 4400 Crystal Springs Drive (Near Los Feliz & Riverside)Los Angeles, CA 90027 (323) 664-6903 Southern California train rides
